The Shoebutton Bears® are inspired by the classic American teddy bear, and are so named for their eyes—shiny black shoebuttons borrowed from grannie’s high button shoes. The bears have embroidered noses, stitched claws and shaggy, love-worn fur. Somewhere in each of the paintings is hidden "X-O-X ". These bears wear hand knitted and stitched outfits, lovingly made from sewing box scraps and vintage yarns. Yet the old fashioned values that the Shoebutton Bears express—family life, love, friendship, loyalty, honesty, kindness and caring—never will fade from style.
